CASEMATES IN THE POLISH ARMY MUSEUM
DAYLIGHT ADAPTATION
WARSAW 2023-01

The entire task includes the construction of the Polish Army Museum complex and the construction of a footbridge, together with the conversion and extension of the Casemate No. 50 storage building into a commercial space. The whole complex is located on the ruins of the Warsaw Citadel, and the so-called Casemates are one of the few historical parts that have survived.

In the project being prepared by QLAB Laboratory of Light, we are using sophisticated lighting solutions, which are intended to reflect the historical character of the building in the best possible way, but also to give great opportunities to future tenants, hence the varied light sources operating in direct and indirect projection (light reflected from the cradle ceilings and newly designed contemporary elements - aluminium reflectors). We also make use of daylight - the interior daylight openings designed by the architects are fitted with special reflectors to introduce more natural light into the rooms.
