PHILADELPHIA BOULEVARD
ARCHITECTURE: RIEGLER RIEWE ARCHITEKTEN
2015 TORUŃ
A riverside boulevard illuminated by luminaires in the form of cylinders suspended from poles as close together as possible. Low but slender, because in the perspective of the boulevard, even though they are more than 20 metres apart, they form a row that should be as invisible as possible.
The idea of continuous illumination of the boulevard pavement was rejected in favour of creating lighting to match the mood of the riverside walk.
A rhythm of warm patches of light guides walkers along the river. The walls, gates and towers, built of red medieval brick, will be illuminated with light at a temperature of 2700-3000K, faithfully reflecting the colour nuances of the monuments' facades.
