THE BRIDGE OF STEEL AND LIGHT
ZAWÓD ARCHITEKT nr 77
The steel bridge named in honour of Marshal Józef Piłsudski in Kraków, known by the locals as the Turtle Bridge, connects Kazimierz with Podgórze. Commissioned in January 1933, this structure is the oldest complete road bridge over the Vistula in Kraków, still standing today. The designers of the bridge's illumination aimed to expose the historical value of the structure, the sophisticated proportions of the structure and to emphasise its attractive location. All this made it possible to achieve an interesting visual effect. We invite you to a presentation of the illumination of one of Krakow's most beautiful bridges, which - thanks to night lighting - has gained a night life.

ILLUMINATING MONUMENTS FROM THE INSIDE
ZAWÓD ARCHITEKT nr 74
In the article 'Monuments from the inside', we present the background of the lighting of historic interiors in 'Zawód Architekt'.When designing the lighting of historic monuments, the time of their origin is of fundamental importance, as we take a different approach to an austere Romanesque rotunda and a Baroque chamber dripping with gold. The most difficult thing, however, is to reconcile the historical character of the building with the need to expose its most valuable elements. We invite you to discover the secrets of lighting monuments.

DAYLIGHT IN ARCHITECTURE
ZAWÓD ARCHITEKT nr 70
Daylight is one of the natural elements of architecture. Its skilful use affects the mood and well-being of the occupants, but also the energy balance of the building. The balanced presence of daylight in a design is one proof of the architect's mastery.Designing for the influence of daylight has a deep historical tradition, since it was the main source of lighting in buildings until the invention of electricity. We invite you to read the article 'Daylight in architecture', which was op-ed in the journal 'Zawód architekt' ('Profession of Architecture').

ILLUMINATION OF MONUMENTS
ZAWÓD ARCHITEKT nr 73
The architectural works were initially not illuminated from the outside. Only the glow of the moon and the stars and the spotlight of torches and illuminated window openings and, later on, not-so-bright street lamps brought out the building blocks from the darkness of night. Today, we want to bring the most valuable historical buildings out of the gloom and make them shine against the background of the night sky.We write about the meanders of the illumination of monuments in the latest article on the pages of 'Zawód Architekt'. We invite you to read it.
