The flame of a candle is the leitmotif of the church interior, recurring in the form of individually designed fixtures below the Stations of the Cross, as well as in the chandeliers of the nave and presbytery. Contrasting, cool light radiates from above the pulpit, illuminating the paintings on the ceilings and emphasising the heavenly nature of their themes. Its presence brings out the warm light of the candles.
The lighting scenes change the interior, which is sometimes used for contemplation, sometimes for listening to a concert, and at other times for celebrating Mass or a holy service. Scenes with an almost completely darkened interior are imbued with special symbolism, when the only source of light is the intense beams of light coming from the external illumination of the temple. They emphasise the beauty of the stained glass windows and paint surprising, multicoloured images on the ceiling.
